In these challenging times, reading about this study on restoring a healthy ocean by 2050 made me happy. The highlights? First, past human efforts to restore the marine environment and life have had an impact. Second, countries can do a lot to improve by protecting and restoring various components of healthy oceans such as coral reefs, salt marshes, seagrasses, etc. And third, that if we do implement these measures aggressively then we can have healthy oceans that are fished sustainably in just 30 years. It would be a great gift to our kids and many generations after that.
